Performance for HMS Day 2018

HMS Society organised a Christmas Carnival for HMS students. There was a crowd of about 150 pax

Did I mention how much I love singing and jamming? Well, I auditioned to perform for HMS Day. Here I performed Tong Hua by Michael Wong and Iridescent by Linkin Park together with 7 other performers.

It was a nerve-racking experience as there were about 70 people in the audience as I sang my songs. Volunteering for this experience helped me in stepping out of my comfort zone and showcasing hobbies that I had normally kept to myself

29th Jan 2019

GLS 2019 was an event where keynote speakers give insight into the Non-Profit industry.

I had the opportunity to represent Ngee Ann poly and listen to the likes of Tan Chuan Jin, Speaker of the Singapore Parliament as well as Mr Andrew Buay, Vice President of Singtel Group's Corporate Sustainability and Talent Coach.

It was also my first networking event. I was initially very fearful of talking to the people there but through this event I managed to step out of my comfort zone and managed to build and experience the Art of networking.

Project Sales

11th July '18 to 6 Aug '18

BeeStylish was a challenge from our lecturers to make a product from scratch with the condition being Beeswax as an ingredient. This venture was with a group of 3 other people and our product had very good sales.

I lead this project where I helped in giving direction for the final product choice (hair pomade) and the business aspects more specifically in the marketing strategy.

I learnt how important prototyping is as we spent a good 3 hours adjusting our recipe because the online article did not give us the same and good outcome

We had a $202.29 starting capital but in less than a month our total profit was $757.71.

BZSE's Project Chara '18

Project Chara (Joy) was a cohort project where we hosted a carnival for underprivileged children to bring them Joy.

I was the Project Leader for this event in which I had the role of leading 50 committee members and overseeing the planning process. This project taught me first-hand experiences of business management skills in order to achieve success.

This project was my first stepping stone into leadership and people management. I learnt many lessons like conflict resolution. There was a time in this project where some of my committee members were unhappy with each others work ethic. Which resulted in verbal arguments from time to time. At first, I did not step in as I didn't know it would be my responsibility. But after guidance from my advising lecturer, I tackled the problem and peacefully moderated the conflict resolution
